Our Church has been part of our city for over 150 years – and we like to think of ourselves as “150 years young” because God hasn’t finished with us yet! The unchanging story of God’s involvement with the world He created constantly needs to be lived out and communicated within the context of an ever-changing world. Our history here in Ipswich is therefore really only a part of His-Story. We're a small paragraph in God's unfolding drama that covers all of history and will continue into a certain future.

This divine drama, in which we play but a small part, is being developed around one central character, Jesus Christ, God's Son. Now that acknowledgement says something about our Church. Our Church revolves around the Person, Jesus. It's not that we're perfect; it's just that we're drawn into the only Saviour that God has provided. The official narrative of God's story is the Bible. Not everything that could be recorded is recorded there, only the most important things, particularly things concerning Jesus. Our Church takes that Narrative very seriously and uses it as the Official, Authoritative Guide to His-Story and our story.

In reality, therefore, we're a group of ordinary people who serve an extraordinary God, committed to partnering with Jesus Christ in His mission in the world. You'll see that if you ever meet us. The only thing remarkable about us is our persistent insistence that God loves us, Jesus saves us and God's Spirit lives within us. You see, we've been invited, by God, into His-Story and in it we (mostly) willingly play our part. Imaging that! Here in this part of Ipswich, among an ordinary group of people, a divine drama is unfolding.

Well, you don't have to imagine it if you don't want to. You can always drop by. Just don't expect to meet super-stars, there's only One Shining Light around here, and his name is Jesus.
